I guess they're happening, but I am not up on all the hype. I couldn't name a single athlete right now, and usually I know a few.

Yeah I typically get sucked in to the gymnastics swimming and maybe other sports, but allowing China to put on this display at this point is crap so fuck them

Madeline Kahn as Pat Nixon: “I remember once an aide referred to the Vietnamese as Gooks and Chinks. Dick said that that was wrong. He said a Chink is someone who’s from China, and is Gook is anyone of the Oriental persuasion. A Chink is always a Gook, but a Gook isn’t always a Chink..”

Caeleb Dressel enters six events at US Olympic Trials:

https://swimswam.com/dressel-enters-six ... ly-200-im/
50 free (#1 seed, 21.04)
100 free (#1 seed, 46.96)
200 free (#11 seed, 1:47.31)
100 fly (#1 seed, 49.50)
200 fly (#9 seed, 1:56.29)
200 IM (#14 seed, 1:59.97)
He'll probably scratch a few, but I'm surprised he's only an 11 seed in the 200 free.

Ryan Lochte is also entered in six events, but he'll probably only swim one or two. He's got a shot at making the team in the 200 IM but if I had to put money on it, I'd bet against it. That's a tough event for a guy his age and he didn't do that hot in Rio.

I'm happy they finally have an 800m free for the men and a 1500m free for the women.

Kieran Smith Wins The 200 Free To Qualify For His Second Individual Race In Tokyo
Kieran Smith could not be stopped as he won his second event at the Olympic Trials. Smith went a blistering 1:45.29 for a new personal best time to win the 200 free final. Smith is two-for-two at the trials as he has already qualified to compete in the 400 free at the 2020 Olympics two nights ago.

Jace Crawford finished off night three of the Olympic Trials in the 200 fly with an eighth place finish in the last semifinals heat and 12th overall with a time of 1:58.33.

"We just finished with another impeccable finals session this evening, said Head Coach Anthony Nesty. "Kieran opened the night with an excellent 200 Free swim. He came prepared and executed that race perfectly. It was a fantastic performance and he has secured a second US team position. Freshmen Jace Crawford stepped up this morning with a competitive prelim swim in the 200 Fly to qualify for a semi-final this evening. I am very pleased with his effort and tenacious attitude. This is one of the toughest arenas in swimming. To reach this pinnacle is special and extremely rewarding. We are looking forward to more events in the next few days to showcase the Gators. We have a lot of talent on the team and everyone is postured and prepared for their events. We will press forward as planned. Go Gators!"

"I think we will be all set for Tokyo regarding the relay, we have all gone 45 before, so it should be exciting," said Kieran Smith. After the 400, I was happy I was able to keep the ball rolling with the 200 tonight."

Prelims

Current Gator Talia Bates and incoming Gator Micayla Cronk started off day three of the Olympic trials with the 200 free. Cronk went a season's season best time of 2:01.56 to finish tied for third in her heat and tied for 30th overall. Bates followed right behind Cronk, finishing fifth in her heat and 32nd overall in the 200 free.

In the 200 fly, Jace Crawford stole the show with a first-place finish in heat four and finished 14th overall to earn a spot in the semifinals with a new personal best time of 1:58.20. Incoming freshman Mason Laur finished seventh in heat three and 43nd overall with a time of 2:01.94 and Dillon Hillis ended up finishing 48th overall in the 200 fly with a time of 2:06.09.

Kathleen Golding got in the pool for the last time of these trials in the 200 IM. Golding went a blistering 2:14.93 to grab a personal best time and finish 20th overall in the 200 IM. Vanessa Pearl finished seventh in the final heat of the 200 IM and 41st overall with a time of 2:17.89.

In the final event of prelims on day three, Taylor Ault and Elise Bauer went second and third in the first heat of the 1500 free. Ault finished in 19th and Bauer was right behind her in 22nd overall.

Up Next

Day four of the trials will kick off tomorrow at 11 a.m. with the men's 100 free followed by the women's 200 fly, men's 200 breast, and the men's 800 free.

Women’s team at uf needs some improvement. Now that Nesty’s in charge, we’ll start to see it.

Btw, Talia Bates is the daughter of James Bates and she has a bright future
