My stepdaughter was just accepted to UF!
It was her first choice, so we are hoping she’ll say yes and enroll in Fall!

Yeah, but the kid has a 4.9 GPA and made a 32 on the ACT. He was eying some out of state scholarship.

Good point. I would see what can be done to establish grounds for being a resident. I don't know the exact rules, but it has to do with tax forms, DL, and "State ties" whatever that is. There might be a way to get around the higher tuition if you start now.

What does out of state for undergrads cost now? I know grad is $580+ per credit hour and that's in state.
