That'd be awesome, but I don't think he's coming to coach college.

Ehhh, Marquand has only been a DC for one year and got fired. He's never been involved at the college level in any capacity. If it becomes necessary I think we can do better than Marquand.

The word on him up here is that he had a special talent for connecting with the players and developing the younger guys. The other word is that he's not going to be unemployed long and he'll def end up in the NFL. :beatsme:

But yeah, I'd love to have him if he's willing to do the recruiting dirty work.

Hopefully for MM, a gig the DC and a big paycheck coaching for his alma mater will be attractive if we do indeed lose Grantham.

*sigh* Here is a preview of our depth chart after signing day...before anyone's put on a fucking practice uniform.
https://247sports.com/college/florida/L ... 128976256/

QB - FF is the front-runner. Wow, what a shock that a kid who might have been one of the most improved QB's in the country will be QB1.
Followed by...Emory Jones, Kyle Trask and true freshman Jalon Jones. That's a great problem to have.

RB - In this order: Perine, Pierce, Davis, Clement and Wright. Yeah. That sounds right.

WR - At the X: Jefferson, Grimes, Wells and Weston.
At the Z: Cleveland, Toney, Henderson and Whittemore. This has to be the year with Cleveland puts it ALL together.
Slot: Hammond, Swain, Copeland and Marks. This is an interesting place. Hammond is reliable. Swain has the big play capability. And Copeland might be the most talented guy on the roster if he stays healthy.

TE - There is finally talent and coaching here. Pitts, Gamble, Zipperer, Krull and Lang. Yes, that's true freshman Zipperer at #3 already. That is how talented and well-respected he is.

More on arguably the biggest surprise commit for the Gators in the 2019 cycle, 4-star WR Arjei Henderson.
https://247sports.com/college/florida/A ... 128969816/

Henderson is a consensus top 140 player. 140 by 247, 130 by Rivals and 94 by ESPN. Legit talent at WR.

Though many on the message boards were surprised (mostly FSU fans who had been led to think he'd be theirs by Newberg and others) Mullen wasn't surprised...at least on that day. He found out a couple days earlier that Henderson wanted to be a Gator.
Florida actually offered Henderson back in Mullen’s first month on campus in December of 2017. A month earlier he had been committed to Willie Taggart at Oregon who he was supposed to commit to last month at the Under Armour All-American Game. The Oregon commitment was sandwiched by two different commitments to Oklahoma.

Mullen was able to see the resolve that Henderson had once the young man finally said he wanted to be a Gator.

“Until the papers come through, you're always checking on things, but Arjei is a guy that we recruited early, had shown interest early, had committed elsewhere, but we would always stay in contact with,” Mullen said. “I think one of the things that he wanted, that helped, is him getting around some of our players at the All-Star Game and communicating and talking to those guys. He really came out and came out strong and said, ‘coach, I really want to commit to Florida’. And I'm like, ‘okay’, but having committed places, I kind of went through more of the why.”

Mullen took the commitment from Henderson which shocked the recruiting world on national television and his gut feeling about the commitment was right on.
So when all the FSU and Miami dickbags wanted to make fun and say "relationships don't matter" and poke fun at "relationship ribs" that Shannon Snell was cooking up? Fuck all that. Mullen knows what he's doing.

And the QB that likely cost us the commitment of 2020 QB Anthony Richardson says that he and the Gators are getting closer and closer. From what I've been reading about the camps, Carson Beck is the real deal.

My truck driver was not a recruiter, just a conduit of high level inside info. Not sure what ever happened to him, Mr Spivey was a good dude, though he was pretty fat.

Veteran cut candidates for every NFL team but I'm only going to list a few:
Miami Dolphins - Robert Quinn, DE
Years left on contract: 1
2019 cap savings: $12.9M
2019 dead money: $0

A trade market could develop for quarterback Ryan Tannehill, but that's not likely to happen for Quinn. The deteriorating pass-rusher won't have much of a role in Miami if the Dolphins go ahead with their rebuilding plan.

New York Jets - Isaiah Crowell, RB [former UGA signee who got in trouble or something and left Georgia]
Years left on contract: 2
2019 cap savings: $3M
2019 dead money: $2M

The Jets figure to be players in the Le'Veon Bell sweepstakes this offseason but should still eye an upgrade at running back if they whiff on their top target. Crowell could be one-and-done in New York despite inking a three-year deal last March.

New York Giants - Janoris Jenkins, CB
Years left on contract: 2
2019 cap savings: $7.75M
2019 dead money: $7M

Out of the Giants' top five 2019 cap hits, three players - Eli Manning, Olivier Vernon, and Jenkins - could be axed this offseason. The cornerback is the most in danger; Manning won't be cut unless a viable alternative can be acquired and Vernon is too important to the pass rush. Releasing Jenkins would create a void at corner, but he simply isn't worth his top-tier salary.

Atlanta Falcons - Vic Beasley, DE
Years left on contract: 1
2019 cap savings: $12.81M
2019 dead money: $0

The Falcons picked up Beasley's fifth-year option last offseason, presumably hoping he could rebound from an underwhelming 2017 and regain the form from his 15.5-sack season the year prior. But Beasley's development continued to plateau; he had five sacks and eight QB hits in 16 games. Teams eyeing a reclamation project at pass-rusher should come calling if he hits free agency.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Gerald McCoy, DT
Years left on contract: 3
2019 cap savings: $13M
2019 dead money: $0

A stalwart of the Bucs ever since he was taken No. 3 overall in the 2010 draft, McCoy will turn 31 next month and isn't a good fit in new defensive coordinator Todd Bowles' system. Tampa Bay only has $8.44 million in cap space, the fifth-least in the league, so it will be hard to resist the money it can save by moving on from the Pro Bowler, despite his close connection to the franchise.

Jacksonville Jaguars - Malik Jackson, DT
Years left on contract: 3
2019 cap savings: $11M
2019 dead money: $4M

Jackson saw his playing time reduced late in the season, a sign the Jaguars plan to release him. Maligned quarterback Blake Bortles could follow him out the door in Jacksonville.
