I don't know how this would play out in Florida, but studies show that daylight saving time in general actually costs money. Variously from half a billion to 2 billion dollars a year. Peanuts sure, but still...why put people through this shit to save money when it actually costs money. Stupid.

It's not about saving money, it's about having more daylight for the tourists to spend their money in.

It's not about saving money, it's about having more daylight for the tourists to spend their money in.
I get that is Floridas angle. But for most of the US and many other countries the promised rewards don't materialize. Most countries have abandoned it. They should stop the pervasive daylight saving time everywhere. If Florida wants to be on Bermuda time alone year round I don't care. But my bet is that it wont pan out. People will stay up later and get up later and no one will show up till later and it will all just adjust.
