Shoulda been Dopinder from the Deadpool movies, thereby bringing Deadpool into the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe (or Drax into the Deadpool Universe, either way works for me).

Wasn't sure if this was posted already, but I did a search by title "Brightburn" and didn't find it. It's a twist on the "Superman" alien baby crashes to earth in Kansas. But if the baby grows up to be a bullied and evil shit.

I'm not a copyright lawyer or anything, but I hope Sony has all their ducks in a row, legally speaking. I mean, that's Superman in all but name (until they turned him evil) - I wouldn't think they could get away with such a blatant ripoff.

I would assume that the studio's lawyers looked into it before letting it proceed.

How long until Action Comics #1 falls into public domain anyway?

Meh. It's not like DC has a monopoly on using the state of Kansas for raising farmer shitkickers into alien superpowers. They did go with the alliteration of the name Brandon Beyer a la Clark Kent. I see what you mean, though.

I agree with Doc on this one. It's so blatant that they either came to some agreement or they just don't care.

But after a little research, maybe DC doesn't have a potential claim. Sony may be protected based of the idea/expression dichotomy. Copyright protection extends to the expression of a creative work. It does not protect the ideas behind it.

alright, who wants to nerd out?

What does the episode title imply? does it mean a new Skywalker arrives? One is revealed (Rey)? or that "skywalker" is synonymous with generational hero?

But until the movie comes out, there's really no telling.

I'm a movie behind. I can't answer these questions. Sorry.

Rey being a Skywalker would be the obvious and boring link to the title.

I think all new jedi will be called Skywalkers. Luke will live on forever type thing.

Or the broom boy is Luke's bastard son, Jon Casino, and he'll save the universe
