Let's try this approach, how does having Heater on the QC squad benefit the Gators?

In ways that would be described as bigger than large.

How? Bigly.

If you can't see what having a great former coach on staff does (especially when one of the secondary coaches inevitably leaves) then you have gargantuan problems. Mammoth.

We need more DJ Durkin castoffs to bring some toughness to these pansies.

Now THIS is an answer I can get on board with.

I get having the benefit of someone with his experience as a consultant type deal but highly doubt he'll be an on the field coach again. If/When English takes another job/is strongly encouraged to take another job I'd like to see Torrian Gray take over the whole secondary.

That would be HUUUUUGGEEEE!!!

And just because, Heater when he was a RB at Michigan:

Heater was also the recruiting coordinator in 2006 and 2007, so i guess that's something

Thanks, RIP. I was looking for the best passive aggressive way to put this, and I couldn't have done it better than this. Well done, friend.

This. He can't call recruits but once they are on campus he can be involved.

RIP, can you elaborate in a larger fashion how this might be a big, helpful thing? Is it a rotund overstatement to say that a coach known for his hefty recruiting prowess could be a stout get for the mighty Gators?
